Novena To Our Lady Of Guadalupe
NOVENA PRAYER
CONSECRATION TO OUR BLESSED MOTHER Blessed Virgin Mary of Guadalupe, PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE O, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Amen. FIRST DAY: THE VIRGIN’S NAME WAS MARY to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the House of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.” Luke 1:26-28 Prayer: Sometimes the messages God sends into my life are difficult to hear: sickness, death of a loved one, finding a new job, separation from family and many others. Pause for Personal Meditation: Our Father... Virgin Mother of Guadalupe, Scripture Reading: “He went in and said to her, ‘Rejoice, so highly favored! The Lord is with you.’” Luke 1:28-29 Prayer: I often feel alone and need the consolation to know, as you were told, that God is always with me. I need to know this when I cannot see my way clear through my problems. Pause for Personal Meditation Our Father... Virgin Mother of Guadalupe, Scripture Reading: “She was deeply disturbed by these words and asked herself what this greeting could mean.” Luke 1:29-30 Prayer: Like you, I am often disturbed at what happens in my life. I sometimes cannot accept what is happening in the world around me. I grow older, lose patience, do not see myself growing in knowledge and holiness, seemed to be involved in relationships that are a burden and, most of all, I find it difficult to change. Pause for Personal Meditation Our Father... Virgin Mother of Guadalupe, Scripture Reading: “The angel said to her, Mary, do not be afraid; you have won God’s favor.” Luke 1:30-31 Prayer: Like you, Holy Mother, who became afraid at the message you heard, I often am afraid that I will not have enough money to feed myself. I am afraid that often I cannot pay my bills, I am afraid that I will lose my job, I am afraid I will be alone and most of all I am afraid that I will not do God’s will in my life. Pause for Personal Meditation Our Father... Virgin Mother of Guadalupe, Scripture Reading: “Mary said to the angel, “But how can this come about, since I am a virgin?’” Luke 1:34-35 Prayer: I often wonder how can things go so wrong. I try to do my best to help other, in my family, in the Word, and through friends and it never seems to turn out as I plan. I need to do more planning and working with those I seek to help. Pause for Personal Meditation Our Father... Virgin Mother of Guadalupe, Scripture Reading: “Know this too: your kinswoman Elizabeth has, in her old age, herself conceived a son, and she whom people called barren is now in her sixth month, for nothing is impossible with God.” Luke 1:36-38 Prayer: Holy mother of God, when you came to Mount Tepeyec, it seemed impossible that the Indians would ever be respected and free from oppression. Help me to be free from all my slavery to bad habits and sins, for nothing is impossible with God’s help. Pause for Personal Meditation Our Father... Virgin Mother of Guadalupe, Scripture Reading: “’I am the handmaid of the Lord. Let what you said be done to me.’ And the angel left her.” Luke 1:38 Prayer: On Mount Tepeyec you chose Juan to be your ambassador. He became your servant and did as you asked. Help me to make my life copy yours that I may be the servant of God in all things. Teach me to put in second place the material goods of this earth. Help me to put my life in the order that God wants of me! Pause for Personal Meditation Our Father... Virgin Mother of Guadalupe, Scripture Reading: “She went to Zechariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth. Now as soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” Luke 1:40-42 Prayer: blessed Virgin of Guadalupe, when you appeared on Mount Tepeyec, you brought hope to the Indians. Help me to teach others the value of human life. Help me to value those I meet who are elderly, need assistance, the sick, the disabled, and most of all assist those who carry the unborn. Let my spirit always be willing to help others, most of all be my prayers. Pause for Personal Meditation Our Father... Virgin Mother of Guadalupe, Scripture Reading: “She gave a loud cry and said, ‘Of all women you are most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.’” Luke 1:42 Prayer: Blessed Virgin Mary, you are the most blessed of all God’s creatures because you brought His word ti fulfillment. On Mount Tepeyec Juan helped bring your word to fulfillment. Help me to accept the blessed gift of God’s word in my life and make me a true example to His disciples as you were. Pause for Personal Meditation Our Father... Virgin Mother of Guadalupe,
