"Wisdom is radiant and unfading, and she is easily discerned by those who love her." (Wisdom 6:12)
Wisdom addresses the rulers of the earth: listen therefore, O kings, and understand; learn, you who are judges of the ends of the earth. Give ear, you who rule over multitudes and boast of many nations. For your dominion was given you from the Lord, and your sovereignty from the Most High, who will search out your works and inquire into your plans. Because as servants of his kingdom you did not rule rightly, or keep the law, or walk according to the purpose of God, he will come upon you terribly and swiftly. Wisdom is radiant and unfading, and she is easily discerned by those who love her, and is found by those who seek her. She hastens to make herself known to those who desire her. One who rises early to seek her will have no difficulty, for she will be found sitting at the gate.
The Catechism identifies wisdom's accessibility to those who genuinely seek her as the principle of divine condescension: God does not hide from those who sincerely look (CCC 2500).
Brothers and sisters, wisdom is easily discerned by those who love her and found by those who seek her. She does not hide from the sincere seeker. She will be found sitting at the gate - not locked away in the inner chamber but waiting at the entrance for anyone who arrives early enough. Rise early. She is at the gate already.
Lord God, your wisdom is radiant and unfading. She waits at the gate for those who seek her early. Draw us to seek her before anything else. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
